Appalachian Leadership Forum
Appalachian Leadership Forum (ALF) is moving to Spring 2020! Plans are underway so check for details soon!
The Appalachian Leadership Forum is a valuable, one-day conference geared to help you tap into your leadership potential. ALF is a conference designed by students for students who want to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge. Student Leadership Conusltants (SLCs) decide the theme, plan the conference and host the event.
Last year, dozens of speakers from App State and across the region shared their leadership stories from a variety of perspectives and industries. Leadership topics followed four themes: Organizations 101, Innovation, Identity and Activism. With over100 students attending, each session allowed time for disucssion and interactive activities. Alf is a great way to meet fellow student leaders and exchange ideas, too!
An Engagement & Leadership tradition at App State, ALF is a FREE conference for students and lunch is provided. The prized ALF t-shirt is given to attendees who attend the conference and closing dessert social.
Who are Student Leadership Consultants?
Student Leadership Consultants (SLCs) are a trained group of students who present workshops about leadership topics to members of clubs, organizations, classes, school groups, and offices. The group also consults with groups and officers who want to increase the effectiveness of their organizations. This energetic group of students will provide organizations with an informative, interactive, and discussion-oriented presentation.
