LEAD

Vision: A world of thoughtful, engaged, and socially responsible leaders

Mission: Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) engages Appalachian State University students in academic, experiential, and community-oriented programs that enhance their leadership capacity.

Guiding Values

Learning: We believe in the importance of developing both personally and professionally and embracing continuing reflection and learning.

Community: We encourage students to contribute to lasting change in the groups and organizations they are part of.

Action: We critically examine leadership systems and structures and take action on issues and causes (for example: education, hunger, sustainability, racism, sexism) that matter to them.

Inclusivity: We teach students to serve as advocates alongside peers and community members of varying identities and social contexts.
